About Mike Urgo

A Rhode Island native and now a Connecticut resident, Mike Urgo is a highly qualified insurance agent with years of experience. He possesses a diverse background professionally and personally.


Professionally Mike has been a successful entrepreneur as both a consultant and retail store owner. He has worked in the financial industry for over 15 years in lending, retail banking, & commercial development. Mike has also worked in non-profit; helping to build major fundraising events through volunteer efforts and major gift donations. He has also been at the cutting edge in the healthcare field of compliance and contract management. Additionally, Mike has been a high producing member of the automobile sales industry, and has also spent over two decades in the restaurant and retail business working his way up through the ranks. Mike now enjoys working directly through Farmers Insurance. He provides top quality insurance options to individuals and businesses in the local community with his friendly demeanor and enthusiasm for what he does.


As a leader and volunteer, Mike has given thousands of hours of his time for the betterment of the local community. Mike currently serves as First Selectman (Mayor) of North Stonington CT helping to promote community wellness and execution of the town’s strategic plans and initiatives. He also currently serves as a coach for the YMCA swim team., is board member for the Connecticut League of Conservation of Voters, which is an organization devoted to the environment. He is also a founding board member of the SAMMCT (the Save America Movement) which is devoted to voter reforms. Mike was also the Chairman of the North Stonington School Modernization committee. He was also President of the YMCA’s Westerly Dolphins Swim team & Secretary of the Mystic Rotary Club. He is a Past President of the Misquamicut Business Association and was instrumental in the organization. Mike took part in founding of their signature fundraising event, The Aloha Luau. Mike was on the Board of Directors for the Westerly Adult Day Center and the Program of All-Inclusive Care for Elderly or RI. Over the past fifteen years, Mike has also served on The Board of Finance for The Town of North Stonington, as well as the Liaison to The Board of Education. He has served as a mentor to a child in the Westerly School system for nine consecutive years. These are just a few of the volunteer efforts and causes which Mike has been involved and dedicated to.


Mike is a graduate of The University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies as well as an Associate Degree in Business Management from The Community College of Rhode Island. He also holds both National and State financial Mortgage and Insurance Licensing in both Rhode Island and Connecticut.

About Lynn Belanger

Lynn joined the Urgo Agency in 2019.  Lynn resides in Mystic with her husband and two young children.  She comes to the Urgo Agency with a strong financial background after working in the banking industry for 11 years before stepping out and taking time off to start and raise her family.  Lynn also comes to us with a passion for volunteering and helping her community.  She spent several years volunteering her time for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life serving on the committee and moving her way up to chairing the event.  Lynn has also served on the board of directors for St. Marks Toddler Playgroup in Mystic, CT, and currently lends what free time she has in helping at her son’s school.  Lynn and her family are active parishioners at St. Patrick’s church in Mystic, and often getting involved in various events at the church.  In her spare time Lynn enjoys spending time with her family, going on hikes, visiting the beach, and baking. Lynn is currently helping manage the operations of the office and is fully licensed in Connecticut Property and Casualty Insurance. About Hannah Smith

Hannah is the newest and youngest of the staff members as she joined the Urgo Agency in 2020. She lives in Eastern Connecticut with her family and enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family, curling up with a good book and a hot cup of coconut cocoa tea, or helping others in whatever way she can. With her amazing people skills and friendly demeanor, she does her best to make sure the customers have a wonderfully happy and comfortable experience while visiting the Urgo Agency. Hannah is fully licensed in property and casualty insurance and is happy to run quotes, book policies, or answer any questions one might have.
